FAQ

We are often asked

Q:  How much does it cost?

A:  The costs involved with transit advertising vary greatly between projects like all forms of mass media. Please contact a representative in your local office

Q:  How is my ad designed?

A:  As a partner of Advertising Vehicles, your ad design is included in a transit package. If you have your own creative department, our design team will work with them as much or as little as you need to ensure that your ad reaches its’ full potential!

Q:  Will my ad fade in the sun?

A:  Your ad is laminated to keep it looking its best for up to a year. They will be periodically checked by our staff to ensure there is no fading. If by chance we notice fading, we will replace the ad at no cost to you.

Q:  What if my ad gets damaged?

A:  We take a great deal of pride in our work and all of our partners on the buses! If your ad is damaged, we will replace it at no cost to you!

Q:  Can I change the message on my bus ad?

A:  You can change your ad as often as you like without affecting your monthly media rate. *Note* A fee to produce and install your new vinyl ad will be incurred with each ad change.

Q:  Is there a minimum number of ads to purchase?

A:  Yes, depending on the length of your campaign, goals, and which size ad you choose. We will walk you through this, but in general: 15 backs or 20 sides for a long campaign or 25 backs and 50 sides for short runs.

Q:  Do I have to pay for the entire term of my contract upfront?

A:  No. Your media will be billed to you on a monthly basis. The first month you will receive 2 invoices, one for the production of your ads and one for the first month’s media.

Q:  When should I start planning my campaign?

A:  As early as possible! This allows ample time to create your advertisement. In addition, the space on our buses is very limited due to the amount of renewing advertisers – so planning a campaign in advance with your local representative guarantees you the perfect ad in the size of your choosing! Lead time however is 2 weeks to install once we have art that you approved.

Q:  How many impressions will I receive in running a campaign?

A:  By nature, outdoor advertising offers the greatest number of impressions for your dollar! These numbers vary by market and ad size/placement. Your local representative can give you market specific numbers and put together a package to maximize your advertising budget!

Q:  Can I advertise on the inside of the buses?

A:  Definitely! We have ad space on the interior of all of our buses.

Q:  Am I able to select the routes my ad will run?

A:  No. If you could, we still wouldn’t suggest this option. Most of us travel to work, to shop, kids events, etc…all over town. We want to make sure you get the frequency you need for your ad to be successful.

Q:  What are my contract length options?

A:  One month to two years! We recommend no less than three months, mostly because the awareness of your ad grows exponentially every month you have it up.

Q:  How do I buy? Size? Length of time?

A:  Initially we’ll do an evaluation of your campaign and suggest: length of time, ad placement, and size based on your goals and our previous experiences. Of course, your budget is factored in as well. We always want to put you in a position to succeed or we won’t place the ad at all!

Q:  What is my Return On Investment?

A:  ROI is the most difficult aspect of advertising to measure when using any form of mass media. One thing that is proven is Outdoor Advertising’s CPM (Cost per thousand impressions). No other medium comes close to offering the amount of impressions on a per dollar basis! What’s even more powerful than the impressions we offer is our list of testimonials from current and past clients!

Q:  Can you tell me how many buses drive by my location?

A:  Generally-yes. Looking at the route map and checking how many routes pass your location, multiplied by the number of times the routes are run each day.

Q:  What happens if my bus is out of service?

A:  All buses go in for routine maintenance since they are on the street 12-18 hours a day. If the service period is more than a week – we take note and extend your contract by that length for that particular bus. If you have 20 other buses running your ads and staying out even longer – generally one bus won’t hurt your campaign results.
