Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

There are a lot of variables involved in determining pricing. Some important factors include: vehicle type, quantity, timing, graphic coverage, design needs, install location, etc. We will work with you to get all the project details and then accurately calculate your investment.

Who does the design?

Our full service design teams are as involved as you want them to be. They can create concepts from scratch or simply check the design you provide. Regardless, they are always available to answer any questions you have or guide you appropriately.

How long do the graphics last?

It really depends on the material used. Some materials last a year and others can last for 8+ years. We will find out your specific needs and then use a material that performs best for you.

Why should I utilize graphics on my vehicle?

Your vehicles are rent free billboards that go where your customers and prospects are. They are your “directors of impressions” and allow you to brand your company name and deliver messages throughout the marketplace. It just makes sense to take advantage of the space you already own and the most cost effective advertising available to you.

Can I wrap a leased vehicle?

Absolutely. The material is manufactured to adhere to painted vehicle surfaces and should not damage the paint upon removal. The only time the material can remove paint is if it is a non-factory paint job.

If I don’t have a logo, can you help me with that?

Yes, our design team can help. They will consult with you to obtain the information needed to create the logo that best represents your company. Then, we can use this logo as the prominent feature in your vehicle graphic design.

What happens if I get in an accident and damage their vehicle?

Accidents or damages are handled on a case by case basis. Sometimes, just a panel or small snipe is needed and other times full sides need to be replaced. Either way, we are happy to help and will repair the graphics in the most cost effective way possible.

Do you work with smaller companies my size?

Absolutely. Whether you have one vehicle or a big fleet, we are here to partner with you and give you the best customer experience possible.

I want to do something with my vehicles but don’t have the time. Can you help?

We sure can. Our goal is to shoulder the details of the project and handle everything for you. We become an extension of your company and allow you to focus on your business.

I have a budget for this project and can’t go over. Are you able to work with me?

Without a doubt. We will consult with you to come up with the best solution that works within your budget.

I am looking for a partner, not a vendor…can you help?

You’ve come to the right place. We pride ourselves on being a partner, not a vendor. This is not a commodity business to us and being a true partner is the key. You are not only investing in the product but our expertise and service too.

Where does the installation take place?

The installation can take place at any of our (5) facilities or we can possibly do it at your location, or a location convenient to you. Regardless, installations should take place in a controlled, indoor facility. We will work with you to secure the best installation facility for your project.

How long is my vehicle out of service for installation?

This may vary but typically, you drop off the vehicle by 5 p.m., the day before the install and the vehicle is then ready for pickup by the end of the install day or noon the following day.

What is a vehicle graphic consultant?

All of Advertising Vehicles’ sales representatives are fleet graphic consultants. We offer all of the products and services, and consult with you to decide what you need. The correct option or combination is the one that makes the most sense for you.

I’m required to use Fleet Graphics by my Marketing department, can you help?

Where does the installation take place?

This is determined on a case by case basis. If you are working with an FMC and using an upfitter for other fleet needs, it usually makes the most sense to have them handle the graphics as well. If your vehicles are being purchased Out of Stock, then field installations will likely be required. In that scenario, installs can be completed at an installer’s facility, at your facility (if you can provide an indoor, climate controlled area), or even potentially at the delivering dealership.

Can I wrap leased vehicles?

Absolutely. A large portion of our clients work with FMCs and love that their wraps actually protect the vehicle from sun damage and minor scratches from rocks. The material is actually manufactured to adhere to painted vehicle surfaces and should not damage the paint upon removal. The only time the material potentially may remove paint is if it is a non-factory paint job.

Are there a minimum number of vehicles I need in my fleet to work with you?

Definitely not. Our company has two divisions for this exact reason. Regardless of the size of your fleet, we would love to talk with you about your fleet graphics needs.

How long does the initial installation take on a fleet of 53’ trailers?

The initial installation, which includes the sizing and application of the framing system, typically takes 1-2 hours to complete. This portion of the project needs to be completed by an experienced installer.

How long are my vehicles out of service for field installations?

This may vary but typically, you drop off the vehicle by 5 p.m. the day before the install and the vehicle is then ready for pickup by the end of the install day or noon the following day.

What materials do you use?

We believe you should do things right, the first time, every time. In our experience, 3M offers the best materials for fleet graphics, from vinyl to laminations. However, if you would like us to consider a different product for your fleet graphics, please do make sure to inform your fleet graphics consultant so that they can take care of you.

Why utilize the Traxx system versus wrapping my trucks or trailers?

Traxx is an ideal system for companies who envision communicating to potential customers in a manner that their competitors aren’t yet employing as part of their marketing mix. Organizations have been wrapping their fleet of trailers for 15+ years now with branded messages. Now you can use Traxx on your fleet and treat your assets as billboards, communicating the same message that is being promoted in other media (radio, tv, etc), without the media cost.

How does the cost compare to wrapping my fleet?

The initial cost is very similar to a full wrap. While the initial investment may be slightly higher due to the investment including the aluminum, the graphics changes are much less than a full wrap.

Who changes out the graphics?

That is up to you. One major benefit of the Traxx Framing System is its ease of graphic installations. Whether you are in the field or in a climate controlled facility, changing out your graphics can be done quickly and easily. Our installation network can change out the graphics for you, or we can train your team to handle the change outs on their own. Regardless, we are always just a phone call away to assist.

How is the system affixed to my fleet?

The system can either be affixed to the truck or trailer with an epoxy – the same type of “glue” that holds your car windshield in place. This option is the preferred option as it is sturdy, yet flexible for those instances when your trailers naturally contour from inconsistencies on the road (i.e. potholes), and requires no maintenance. Or, it can be riveted to the truck or trailer, but with rivets, you will have some basic maintenance, like with the rivets already in place on your fleet.

How long do change outs take on a fleet of 53’ trailers?

The time involved in changing out your trailer graphics depends on who is doing the work. If experienced installers are handling your update, it will take 30-60 minutes per unit. If you chose to have your team do it, depending on how many times they have changed out graphics for you, it could take anywhere from 30-90 minutes. Depending on the size of the fleet at the DC, and the number of units being updated, that location should be able to be updated to new graphics over a weekend.

What if the truck or trailer has side entry doors?

The system is not able to go over side doors. We would typically stop the system at the side doors and then wrap them in a way that compliments the rest of the design.

How long will the frame system last?

The Traxx frame system will outlast the asset that it is affixed to.

How long will the graphics (skins) last?

This is a loaded question. On average, you will be able to run the skins on your fleet for one and a half years before you will notice fading. The materials themselves will last for many years and will not just come off or fall apart.

Do I have to remove my current graphics to use Traxx on my fleet?

No. Because the graphics (skins) themselves don’t actually adhere directly to the body of your asset, the majority of your existing branding can remain in place. However, in order to install the frame itself, we will need to remove roughly 5″ all the way around the truck, allowing the Traxx frame to install directly to the body of the truck.

Am I able to have your system installed at the manufacturer when I place my annual fleet order?

Yes. We have established great working relationships with many of the fleet manufacturers. In the instance we are not setup with the vendor of your choice, please let us know and we will gladly coordinate everything.
